["Paper Bullets"]
I am a Japanese/Scottish/Iroquois American heterosexual male 80’s baby raised in Richmond, CA, currently living with my wife in El Cerrrito, CA. I am a work in progress and not unbiased. I am a writer and a lover of all things Hip-Hop. I am a student and an educator. I am self-hate and self-love in a cage match fight to the death. I work to identify and shed light on the difference between relative and absolute privilege/power in America.
To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never, to forget.

Hey Colin,
My name is David and I’m over at SFSU taking an Asian American Studies class with Professor Wei-Ming Dariotis. She assigned your new album The Literary Ca[n]non as a research topic for our class which was pretty cool. The CD is awesome btw and I was pleasantly surprised listening to it. If someone in our class was interested in an interview with you, would you be down? Also we can’t find the lyrics to the songs on the cd, but we might be able to use it in our papers. Please drop me an email sometime.
